At Heather Glen Senior Living, we are always searching for the perfect opportunity to give back to the wonderful community we are able to work within, and the holiday season always offers plenty of opportunities to do just that. Whether you take some time out of your day to volunteer at local organizations such as Toys for Tots, Meals on Wheels, Lehigh Valley Aging in Place or any other incredible companies throughout the area, your work will always be impacting the community for the better. At Heather Glen Senior Living, we love being able to extend a helping hand to those in need, and this year we had the opportunity to help the team at Kay Builders as they set up another incredible Food & Supply Drive throughout the area.

Participating in the Food & Supply Drive with Kay Builders

In recent years, the team at Kay Builders has put together a local food drive throughout their active new home communities and were able to donate all of the food they collected to local food banks in the Lehigh Valley. They held their last food drive in 2018 and were able to donate 750 pounds of food, and this year, they were able to double that number with the help of a few different organizations, including our team at Heather Glen Senior Living.

We have been proud to be part of the Kay Builders team, and having the opportunity to help assist them with their Food & Supply drive this year was an incredible experience for all of us. The Food & Supply drive ran from Friday, November 4 through Sunday, November 13, and with the help of our team as well as the combined effort of Kay Builders’ homeowners, the Kay Builders’ staff, our families, and the teams at Traditional Mortgage and Traditional Abstract, we were able to donate nearly 2,000 pounds of food in total to two amazing organizations around the area—with 1,635 pounds of food donated to Second Harvest and over 30 grocery bags donated to Bucks County Housing Group in Doylestown, PA.

The holiday season is a time full of gratitude and joy, and our entire team at Heather Glen Senior Living loved being able to help so many local families in need in any way that we could. With a number of incredible organizations throughout the area dedicated to improving the lives of all of those around us, we have always been incredibly proud to be a part of such a wonderful and caring community, and we are thankful to have been able to help out with the Food & Supply drive that Kay Builders was able to set up.
