Before we chose Heather Glen, we visited several places. For us, there was no doubt we wanted my mom at Heather Glen. She was in their Memory Care community. She loved the activities and made friends. The place is very clean, bright, and cheerful. We would see her every week and we could see she was happy. The staff treated my mom as a person and friend.

I couldn't have asked for a better place for my mom. Everyone [at Heather Glen] has been so kind and helpful. It was not easy for my mom moving from her own home to senior living, but everyone has been so kind to my mom. It really made all the difference.

I transferred my Mom from a facility in FL to Heather Glen so she would be closer to me. Choosing Heather Glen Senior Living was the single best decision I could have made. Honestly, the facility in FL has a sister facility here in Allentown. It is supposed to be one of the best. I can say with a second's hesitation the facility in FL doesn't come close to the service, expertise, and caring provided by Heather Glen. The staff is beyond caring, professional, and friendly. The attention paid to my Mom actually floored me. The facility is clean and well-maintained. They provided activities and were always checking on her. I would get almost daily reports on her condition whenever I was out of town. The cost is absolutely competitive with other facilities in the area. My Mom passed away a couple weeks ago. I can say I don't have one regret in the decision to have her final days in the caring loving hands of Heather Glen. Thank you to the staff and administration.

My mother lived at Heather Glen for almost 2 years, and I have only positive things to say about it. The building is beautiful and the rooms are large and well-appointed. But it's the staff that makes Heather Glen truly shine. The compassion they show the residents and their families is outstanding. My mother truly came to love members of the staff. They do all they can to care for the residents' needs, physically and emotionally. I can't think of a better place for your loved ones when it is time to make that move. 

If you have a loved one with a memory disorder, you owe it to your loved one and yourself to attend the Savvy Caregiver Training. Both of you will benefit greatly. The time invested for the course will be paid back by the time and tools you learn to care for him or her.

Our father joined the Heather Glen Senior Living family in January of 2018 and it was a perfect fit for him and for our family. The staff is extremely dedicated to the residents, makes them feel at home, very comfortable, and safe. They were excellent at introducing us to the word of assisted living, and patient with us learning the ins and outs. We had an unfortunate loss in our family that resulted in relocating our father to another facility closer to us in New England, otherwise he would still be under the excellent care of Heather Glen. We wholeheartedly recommend Heather Glen Senior Living and completely trust them with our parents. In our opinion you would be hard pressed to find a better assisted living facility for your aging family members!

My mother spent 4 years at Heather Glen and I truly believe my mother lived longer by living there than had she spent the whole time living with me. I highly recommend this place and the staff is wonderful to work with. They have lots of things to do for the [residents] to keep them entertained. If I need to go live at Assisted Living ever, this is the place I want to go.

Heather Glen made my mom and our family feel special! They are great with fantastic care while also being very family-oriented! Staff always went above and beyond to make you feel at home and address needs of all. The facility is always clean and up-kept. Looks and feels like a home. 

What a gift it was to have my mother cared for at Heather Glen in the memory care facility during the last few years of her life! As her children, we had limited ability to be with her, first because pandemic restrictions and then later because we all live out of state. But our anxieties about that quickly vanished when we saw how she was happily thriving there. The staff were warm, kind and attentive to her, we received regular updates, the caliber of the facility and activities available to her were well beyond what we expected, and as she began to decline, staff consulted with us on all the decisions that needed to be made. Not only was Heather Glen exceptionally good value for money, but they gave deep peace of mind as we all navigated the unusual challenges of having a loved one in care and not close to us during the pandemic. If you are considering having a family member as party of their community, I can recommend Heather Glen unreservedly.

We moved my Dad from another facility, Dad says it's like living at the Plaza Hotel! He now gets delicious HOT food, he ACTUALLY gets nursing care and the security of someone at the desk at all times. All of the staff have been kind and compassionate. Well-run programming, and a BEAUTIFUL facility that feels homey. Can't thank you enough!

After visiting several senior care facilities I knew, without a doubt that Heather Glen was where I wanted my husband to be. The entire atmosphere is one of compassion, understanding, and kindness. EVERY staff member I have had contact with has been amazing. They are all so knowledgeable, patient and thoughtful. It is very obvious to me that the staff has been educated about the challenges of residents with memory issues and they treat them with respect. It is a pleasure to visit my husband because the staff is always happy and smiling, and very importantly, my husband is happy. Every time I visit him he remarks about the wonderful staff and great food. He enjoys the many and diverse activities provided each day. I know my husband is safe, happy, and getting the best care available. I feel very blessed that I found Heather Glen and that my husband was able to move in to such a lovely facility. My father came to Heather Glen in March after his life partner Eleni suffered a stroke and moved to be with her son in California. Dad missed her dearly. He was 92 and needed assistance with some of his activities and daily living. He was previously a very active and social person but he had become a bit isolated at home. After coming to Heather Glen he adjusted pretty quickly. He spent very little time in his apartment. He loved the food and enjoyed his table of friends in the dining room! He loved the haircuts, the hand massages, and all the special attention he received. He loved the musical events and the field trips, the bingo and the kickball. He even participated in the crafts, which was surprising! He received the best attention from the friendly staff and insisted that we bring them gifts to show his appreciation. He had family close by in Allentown that visited him frequently and we were always impressed by what we saw. He was well taken care of and his apartment was clean. The nursing staff called us whenever there was an issue, before it became something more serious. His time at Heather Glen was really a blessing for us and for him. We feel good that we found such a caring place and that he enjoyed his final months of life making friends and keeping active. Thank you so much for all that you do and for the caring community you provide. 

The administrative team, nursing team, and all the people working there, including housecleaning and daily staff, have all been absolutely wonderful. They are very personable. If I have a question, I can ask and I get an answer. They're very supportive of my father. He can be ornery, but they know how to handle him. And he's getting excellent care. If you're looking for a facility that has activities, nursing assistance, and transportation - which has been wonderful - Heather Glen is the place to go. It really takes the burden off of the family not having to take time off work to go to doctor appointments and things when they're scheduled right there through Heather Glen. 

Heather Glen was a wonderful place for my father to receive the necessary support required to ensure his safety concerns were met, and also a great place to socialize with the community. My husband and I looked at several senior living locations before deciding on Heather Glen. One of the main reasons we selected Heather Glen was the continuing support shown to our family. Kim Garrison was our go to person. She provided us with all the necessary information to make this a smooth transition for my father. All of our questions and concerns during this time at Heather Glen were addressed immediately by Kim and the staff at the facility. We would highly recommend Heather Glen if you are considering a place for your loved one. 

Heather Glen Senior Living...a lifeline, an anchor and a safe harbor!

For anyone at the crossroads of how best to care for a loved one who is battling with dementia, I totally get it! When I finally realized that my Mom's memory was failing, it was a heart wrenching time ridden with profound sadness, guilt, anger, frustration and a sense of loneliness in trying to help my Mom. She was extremely resistant to say the least which did not make the journey easy. Initially, she lived in a Memory Care near me in Illinois. At first, all seemed ok, but it became apparent that her individualized needs were not being addressed. My stress level was over the top and thankfully, my siblings came to the rescue. My eldest brother and sister-in-law researched several places in the Allentown area and felt Heather Glen was a great fit for Mom. They immediately felt the vibrancy, care, interest and dedication of Jackie, the Memory Care Director. Mom has been a resident since the end of June...yes, right in the midst of COVID-world! From the moment she arrived, her safety was paramount! And she WAS resistant...but melted in the warmth of Jackie's greeting. While it has been so challenging to be separated geographically from my Mom, the Heather Glen staff has made the transition as smooth as possible. My sister and I 'tag team' Zoom visits with my Mom and my brother and sister-in-law visit with their family... visits have been 'window visits' due to COVID which demonstrates the Heather Glen commitment to safety. My husband and I have window visited with my Mom as well during two visits we made...a long drive but worth every minute to see my Mom! The warmth of the staff is genuine. My Mom is always dressed well and even has her hair done! The Activities Assistant, Kathy, is so upbeat and encouraging with my Mom, so much so, that my Mom is busy during the day with a variety of activities and is rarely in her room. My Mom also comments that the food 'is really good'...and as the saying goes, 'the proof is in the pudding' as she looks great!

In addition to the outstanding physical and emotional care, Heather Glen also provides support to family members. Recently, Kim Garrison spearheaded a great seminar, 'The Savvy Caregiver' which addressed the multi-dimensional aspects and challenges of dementia. The commitment to supporting caregivers and providing tools to deal with fragile and failing memory of a loved one is yet another shining example of Heather Glen's superior level of care and concern not only for its residents, but also, the family.

I am very happy with the compassion and care of the staff at Heather Glen toward my parents. Anytime I need questions answered or need help getting something to them, someone's always willing to help, be it the front desk receptionist, a nurse or management.

I would recommend this facility to anyone that is considering excellent care for their loved ones! The activity level, the staff, and care is beyond what we could have ever imagined. There is a lot of activities for our Mom here, we never thought she would be this active! From the moment you walk into the building, you feel so welcomed. I love being able to log onto Facebook and see what fun activities they have going on today. We are so happy to have Mom here.

Heather Glen has been the best personal care place my Brother has lived in. I actually removed him from the previous place because of their lack of care/concern. Heather Glen has restored my faith that my Brother can have a fulfilling life in a personal care facility.

Everyone knows my Brother, makes sure he is being cared for, assists him with daily activities, etc. Where they go above an beyond is by getting my Brother involved in daily activities. Even when he doesn't actively participate, he still enjoyed observing the activities. The care team has learned how to encourage my Brother to be a part of the community.

I see it every time I visit. There is always a staff member saying 'Hi' to my Brother. And my Brother says 'Hi' right back - not something he normally does. He trusts the people at Heather Glen and he enjoys being a member of this community.

I've always been very pleased with the care and concern with the staff at Heather Glen for my mother. It definitely feels like home for her. I am always welcomed by everyone on the staff. I have complete faith and trust in the staff who take care of my Mother.

My mother is anxious to get back home to Heather Glen! Those were her words. They are important to me as she had lived in the family home for 64 years. The feeling that Heather Glen had become a home to her so quickly speaks volumes to me.

My aunt is a resident at Heather Glen and her need for senior care was rather sudden so we were not prepared with good research. We've had experience with three other senior living facilities in the Lehigh Valley. The level of the care, amenities, facilities and truly genuine, compassionate people at Heather Glen are just unmatched. Like many people, we dreaded the day when it became obvious that Mom would benefit by being in a 'nursing home'. But we were lucky. We found Heather Glen.

I'm very happy to be able to recommend Heather Glen.

Mom was always treated with kindness, warmth and care from the aides and personal care staff, to the dining room and management team. There was something special about the aides and personal care team-Mom was treated gently, courteously, respectfully and lovingly. I can't tell you how important that was.

The facility was beautiful-more like a very nice hotel than a typical nursing home. A warm and pleasant room-far bigger than her own bedroom at her home. Welcoming, spacious hallways, get-together rooms and a cheerful dining room. Fireplaces galore. Ditto widescreen TV's.

Especially important to Mom were her new friends she made-other residents. Many, many people, men and women alike, always had a smile and pleasant, gentle conversation for her. I know she felt loved. Dotty, Bernie, Nancy, James, George, and what's his name across the hall from her room and her spry 98 year old lady friend. And many others whose faces I'll always remember even though my name memory is not so good anymore.

Thanks to all of you for taking care of her and making her final days here on earth as happy and pleasant as possible.

My husband became a resident at Heather Glen the end of August 2017. He had been a resident at another Memory Care facility prior to Heather Glen.

I was so happy we moved my husband to Heather Glen because it was so much more pleasant. The facility was clean, light and had a lot of space. As my husband's condition continued to get worse, I was able to spend more time with him because there was plenty of room. We could be inside or outside in their courtyard. When inside, there were activities he could participate in or we could find an area to be alone and not stuck in his room.

The staff was always pleasant and very helpful. They made it easy for me to spend many hours there with my husband even at meal time. When my husband's condition became more critical, Heather Glen was very accommodating. In his last days, when my family was there with me, they even sent food to his room for us. They made us feel very comfortable and nothing was too much trouble.

In the six months my mother lived her, she made the transition from memory care to assisted living and hospice care. In each phase, she was treated with compassionate care and dignity by the entire staff. She truly found a second family at Heather Glen Senior Living.

Keep up the good work. I feel confident my mother is safe and being cared for. The staff is friendly and efficient. Of course, the affordability is great too.

When my brother and I made the difficult decision that our mother could no longer be cared for in her home, we began to explore avenues for memory care in a facility. I am glad we found Heather Glen. For selfish reasons, it is convenient only being a short distance from my home, but my mother has been there for several months, and I believe that she receives quality care. The staff is wonderful and has helped her adjust from the taking pictures off the wall and packing her bags every day to having her compliment the cleanliness of the facility. The staff at Heather Glen is wonderful. They have really helped her make this transition from being in her own home with non-professional home care to being in a facility with professional memory car staff. I do visit there on almost a daily basis and the staff has always greeted me with friendliness, courtesy and respect. I would highly recommend looking at Heather Glen for loved ones who have memory issues. They do make accommodations for many levels of memory deficits.

I wanted to take a moment to express my thanks for all you and your staff have done for my parents over the past 7 months. Heather Glen will always hold a special place in my heart because it was where my mom spent her final months. Although it was a difficult time for her and my dad, the caring and support they both received was outstanding.

I am the daughter who came to stay at HG several times over the months. Thank you for making this possible. It gave me an opportunity to spend additional quality time with my parents, and especially my mom. Living 6 hours away has been so difficult, but knowing I had a place to stay when I was in town made things so much easier.

The facilities, activities, and food (yes, I am a big fan of the food at HG!), are all top notch, but the best part of HG is the people. From the administrators who put up with my dad, to the care givers, nurses, food servers and maintenance personnel - everyone has been wonderful to work with. I got the feeling that for most of your staff, working at Heather Glen is more than just a way to earn a paycheck. They really care about your residents and families. I felt very comfortable knowing my parents were at Heather Glen.

Please share our thanks and appreciation with your entire staff. You certainly helped our family get through a very difficult time. Also, we know so many of your staff attended Mom's funeral service last week. That really meant a lot to us, and this did not go unnoticed by my family.

Heather Glen is a beautiful, nicely appointed facility-- but even more significant is the professionalism, enthusiasm, and warmth of everyone working there including the administrator, the marketing director, the nurse, the activities coordinator, the med techs, and the caretakers. I appreciate the individual care and attention they give to my sister. It's impressive the effort all made to learn my sister's needs and interests. We are so happy that Heather Glen is now open.
